About Our College:

 




The College of Information Technology was established at the beginning of the 2016 academic year as an extension of the computer science department which was established in 1984. The college has a number of specializations for bachelor's degrees in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering, and master's in computer science.

The departments of the college have witnessed a qualitative development by adopting the latest academic plans and developing new disciplines that keep up with the developments of the labor market and the modern technological revolution.

The College includes many faculty members in various academic disciplines who have the knowledge and high abilities to fine-tune and guide the students' skills to achieve the best level of education for them. The College also provides many laboratories equipped with the latest computer equipments and its annexes, which form a cornerstone during the educational process for students. The College is keen to adopt many scientific activities and seminars in order to keep pace with the latest technological developments and contribute to raising the scientific level of students and staff.

The University of Mu'tah aims to provide the local labor market with qualified and competent staff in the fields of information technology and modern technology tools, and to strive to develop its programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels on an ongoing basis to improve the product and meet the needs of the local community.

Data Science
Computer Information Systems Department was established in 2018/2019 two years after the establishment of the Faculty of Information Technology, which was established in 2016/2017. Currently, the department has 13 faculty members, distributed as follows: One professor, seven assistant professor and five full-time lecturer.

The department offers a bachelor's degree in two major IT disciplines over a period of four years with 132 credit hours. The two major IT disciplines in the department are distributed as follows:

·       Computer information Systems.

The Department of Computer Information Systems was established to cope with the evolution and requirements of the information technology world. The department provides students with a variety of subjects related to information systems analysis and design, data retrieval systems, data warehousing and data mining, network management, e-commerce and related studies.

About CS Department:
The Department Of Computer Science Was Established In 1984 As It Was Belong To The Faculty Of Science Until 2016, After That It Joined To The Faculty Of Information Technology. The Department Was Established To Meet The Needs Of The Local And International Market In Various Sectors Of Information Technology. The Department Grants A Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science With 132 Credit Hours And A Master's Degree In Computer Science With 33 Credit Hours. The Department Has (13) Professors In Different Disciplines And Different Academic Levels.



The department provides an opportunity for students to learn many different programming languages, information systems analysis and design, databases design, networks building, and artificial intelligence to be able to compete in the labor market locally and internationally in different sectors of information technology. It is also has the responsibility to adopt modern learning techniques to deliver the correct and updated information in the easiest way as possible as through the use of computerized materials and the use of E-Learning system.

Software Engineering Department :

Software Engineering program aims to prepare students for a bright career in various fields of software engineering such as software project management, software engineering requirements, software building and modeling. Software engineering is the core of software designing and maintenance. It covers topics including core processes in software lifecycle, mathematical fundamentals in software engineering and requirements analysis, software engineering techniques, software structure and reuse principles, software quality and validity issues, software development, programming and software maintenance required by the graduate. These are to obtain more advanced professional qualifications in the future.
